Review: Starry Skies at Castle Court by Holly Hepburn

Part four in the new series from bestselling author Holly Hepburn.

Sadie is a single mum, nursing a broken heart. Cat is burned out from working long hours as a chef. They decide to invest in their dream – running their own handmade biscuit shop in gorgeous Castle Court, a three-storey food court tucked away behind Chester's bustling streets.
They soon discover that Castle Court has its own community – a little haven of delight against the stresses of the outside world. But not everyone welcomes the new business; the patisserie owner is less than pleased by what she sees as direct competition and Greg, who runs the fancy bistro that dominates one end of the courtyard, doesn't thinkSadie and Cat have the talent or business acumen to succeed. Luckily, there's support in the form of the delectable Jaren, who owns the Dutch waffle house opposite Smart Cookies, and Swiss chocolate-shop owner, Elin. And if all else fails, the friends can drown their sorrows in the cocktail bar that overlooks the court.

Review: Well this was a wonderful ending to what has been a great serialisation. It had all the elements I had hoped would be in there too. Doors which I thought had been closed for good turned out to be unlocked after all and not everyone was quite as they seemed...

I liked the fact that Cat and Sadie both had major roles to play in this final part, the story didn't favour one of these ladies over the other. That theme of them doing it for themselves and being strong-minded independent women is still really strong too. I love that they really do look out for themselves and as much as they do take into consideration what other people think, they don't let it affect their major life decisions.

Of course the other characters from Castle Court all get a look in in this final part too. It was great to get some conclusions where the supporting characters were concerned as well. I really like the fact that characters who have only appeared in one or two of the other parts in the series also get a little part in this final part too, it means that the story as a whole feels complete and well rounded.

This being the final part in the series, we definitely get some aww moments as well, plenty of nostalgia and just a little bit of romance, the first chapter does start with a very romantic gesture as well, if you've read part 3, you'll know what I'm talking about! I've really enjoyed getting to know the residents of Castle Court, watching Cat and Sadie's business grow and finding out what direction these ladies' lives are going to head in next. each part left me wanting more and I am sure they will read just as entertainingly as a full-length novel.
