Guest Review: Christmas at Butterfly Cove by Sarah Bennett

All she wants for Christmas…

When talented artist Nee Sutherland returns to Butterfly Cove for her sister’s wedding, it’s only a matter of time before she has to face her own bridegroom – Luke Spenser – the man she impulsively married, then left in the middle of the night.
Nee hasn’t picked up her paintbrushes in months, a part of her is broken. She knows Luke might never forgive her, leaving him was the biggest mistake of her life – but could coming home for Christmas be the best decision she’s ever made?
Maybe all she needs is a little Christmas miracle…

Review: This is the third, and final, part of the Butterfly Cove series. I have enjoyed the first two parts of the trilogy, and, as with the others, I found this story quick to grab my attention. Once again, it is a book that stands well on its own, but the entire series makes up a delightful family story; with each successive book, the reader has learned more about all of the central and incidental characters.

Each of the books centres on one of three sisters - Mia, Kiki and Nee. The focus of this story is Nee, although of course all three sisters and characters met in the preceding books are present. Nee is an artist who has returned from the USA for sister Mia's wedding. Her return has unearthed a secret which has shocked the family. Everyone is also curious at to what has prompted her sudden return from her life in New York where they thought she was happily settled. As Christmas approaches, and Mia plans a big gathering of family and friends at her guest house in Butterfly Cove, will Nee's secrets come to light?

This would be a lovely story to read in the build up to Christmas. Although the main story concerns Nee and her art, the preparations for a fabulous Christmas and new year celebration at Butterfly Cove are amazing; I just wish I could have been on the guest list! This is a house party like no other. It was great to catch up with all the characters I feel I have got to know in the other two books in the series. I have enjoyed the light-hearted banter between them as well as seeing Mia's plans progressing and will miss them now that the series is complete. I can highly recommend this book and the entire Butterfly Cove series. I'm sure I shall go on to read more from Sarah Bennett
